Think Pink

http://jacquesmagnolias.blogspot.com/2010/10/vintage-tilda-at-just-magnolia-and-pink.html please do go and have a look at Jacque's blog and show your support. I used to work with breast cancer patients and they were the most amazing people I had the privilege of meeting. Age and sex do not discriminate when it comes to breast cancer. One of my patients was the brother of a colleague. Unfortunately he passed away as a result of his illness. He wasn't very old either. Every year I support the Think Pink appeal.

Inked Inspirations 5th birthday

Pop along to Inked Inspirations, Jodi is celebrating her 5th blog birthday. Happy Blogging Birthday Jodi.
http://inkedinspirations.blogspot.com/2010/07/its-my-birthday.html.
After several weeks of internet and computer problems I think I am finally back up and running again. I shall post some of the cards I've made over the past few weeks including some using the new stamps and papers from Crafters Companion. Their new SWALK range. I've had fun using the new stamps and coloring in with Promarkers, I've been rather nervous of using them but now I've started it's a little hard to stop.

Friday 16 April 2010

I made this card for my partner. He just loves his cars and is quite a fan of the Fast and Furious movies so I felt this was a perfect choice. The design was from the PK cd from Crafty Ideas by Kaz. I added some papers from K&Co and a couple of buttons for embellishments.
I did this card using an image from Sarah Kay. I watercolored her in and used some H2O's to color the puppy and her skin. The paper is from The English Paper Company and Smirk. I then used a couple of Prima flowers and a ribbion to finish the card. This was my first attempt at following a template design and am rather proud of it.
This was the card I did for my mother for Mother's Day. The stamp is one of Wendie Rhodes designs and the backing paper was from a set of lace papers from Joanna Sheen. I've also used a touch of Flower Soft in her hair.
This card was done using a sticker form the Dandelion collection. I had to make a card with anything beginning with the letter 'E'. And this elephant was just perfect. I thought she was adorable
Here is my card that I did for an Easter challenge. I was rather pleased with the end product. I'm happy to say it won that challenge too. I was so excited lol. The rabbit was a free stamp from a craft magazine (I confess I can't remember which one), the papers were also freebies. I cut the papers using woodware chippies as templates and I've decorated using card candy.

This card was done also using the freebie stamp and papers from K&Co, along with more of the card candy. I love these little things they really do finish off a project beautifully. I'm going to have to get myself some more. I've also been having a play with aniqueing(?), but I would like to invest properly in some Tim Holtz ink pads and some blender blocks.
If I do say so myself my major clear out the other month has made a world of difference to my mojo. My cards look and feel so much better than my previous efforts.

Gosh where does the time go these days. I can't beleive Easter has been and gone already. I went down to Hove, East Sussex for a long weekend. I got to spend it with friends. The weather was a little hit and miss but still I had a lovely time none the less. Travelling home was a bit of a nightmare, the underground in London wasn't running properly so had to change several times just so that I could get my connecting train at Paddington. By the time I got home I had a lovely migraine lol. But my girls more that made up for it, they were so pleased to see me as I was to see them.

Gill's mini album

Here are just a couple of pages from Gill's mini album. I'm rather pleased with the finished book. I just need to get it into the post.
One of my taks this week is to try and clean up my studio. I have far too much stash!!! Some of it hasn't been used in years and I feel it's time to make room for the new stash. I'm off to the Malvern show next weekend and hope to find some great new bits. Its also time to go through my bits folder. Like many of you I keep all those small scraps of paper just in case..... But now is the time to be brutal. I have hundreds of scrapbook papers which I avoid using trying to favour the scraps but it's making my papercrafting  very stale. So I'm going to clear out the old and start afresh with the new. Here's hoping.

Tuesday 2 March 2010

Where does the time go? At least Spring is virtually up on us. I'm very much a Spring baby. Winter makes me feel very low and don't have much enthusiasm. Now I feel like a new born lamb lol. I did a thorough clean of my apartment yesterday and took my nets down to give them a good wash. I washed the windows and was able to leave them open until quite late in the afternoon. It was lovely. I have tem wide open again this morning. Keisha Belle is loving it too as she can come and go again as she pleases through the windows. My BF sent me a lovely photo of her youngest yesterday, he looks so grown up bless him. I miss them all terribly. But I have an excellent excuse to craft and send cards and gifts across to Ireland for her. I'm just making her a mini scrapbook of my babies as she is really missing them. And them her I might add, Spirit especially. I'll take some photo's of the finished album. I also need to think of something for my card swap on the Crafty Ideas forum. Something beginning with "E". Elelphants come to mind at the moment.

Monday 8 February 2010

Sorry for not posting but have spent the past week fighting a bug. But on the plus side I have been able to get a little crafting done. I will take some photos and post them as soon as poss. I'm rather pleased with how much I acheived. I have some more challenges to take part in the month so I need to get those projects done. My friend is moving at the end of the week so I'm hoping I'll be well enough to help. I can then do a quick blitz of my home and get back into my craft room. I'm storing my friends things until she could move into her new home and it's all in my craft room. I've been 'living' out of my craft tote for a month so it will be fab to get to my stash again. But this has been a great opportunity to use up all those freebie bits and pieces that I have been accumulating over the years and create some cards. I shall see if I can do the samething with all the free cross stitich kits I've also been collecting for the past 20 years. Mmmmm that may be pushing things a bit too far.

Hearts and Flowers

Another scrapbook page from my calender. The papers I used are from Brenda Pinnick as are some of the embellishments. The flowers are from Prima and the ribbon was some I had in my craft stash.

BROWN OWL

This is from a freebie that I got from Crafty Ideas by Kaz. You need to be a forum member to get the free templates and designs but it is well worth it. They are a lovely bunch of people on there. There are plenty of challenges and swaps to join in with as well as a weekly quiz that you can take part in.

Follow this link to join the forum http://forum.craftyideasbykaz.co.uk/. Everyone is very welcome.

CRAFTY KITTY
Spirit seems to be the only one fo the 2 of us who is enjoying the snow. She is a Northern Inuit and is very suited to these conditions. She's a nightmare on the lead though at this time of year. I think she goes into sled mode. My arms weren't meant for it!!!!
But for some strange reason she doesn't like the rain though, go figure!!!!
The youngest member of our family turned 1 just before christmas. She's also turning out to be very crafty and seems to think I need help!!!
CARD CHALLENGE
I'm just trying to sort out a card for this months card challenge on the Crafty Ideas forum. This months challenge is to make a card that is black and white. I will post my card as soon as I've made it. I have also done my card for the card swap on the forum. This months topic is anything starting with the letter 'C'. We also run birthday card list, anniversary lists and a new list has just been set up for the partners of those on the forum.
LIVERPOOL
This card was specially designed for my 'nephew' Aaron. The image itself was taken into PK by Karen Sayers of Crafty Ideas by Kaz and turned into a pyramage. Aaron is a huge Liverpool fan just like his auntie!!! He was over the moon with it and is going to have it framed for his bedroom.
OCTOBERS CHALLENGE
This was my winning entry in the card challenge on the Crafty Ideas by Kaz forum. I sent it to my best friend Gill for Halloween.
PURPLE, BLACK AND WHITE

This card was for a friend of mine. I made her a corset bag to mathc but unfortunately I never took a photo of the finished project. This years resoulution is to keep on top of these things and have a record of what I do.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hello and A Happy New Year. Well I've been busy making scrapbook calenders for a couple of friends as well as doing one for myself. I have also been making some card samples up for a forum that I belong too. I'm hoping to scrapbook my christmas cards as well. I purchased a lovely memory album set by Brenda Pinnick from QVC. I love Brenda's design's, I'm a huge fan. The set has plenty in there to keep me going for sometime. I bought a previous scrapbook kit of hers that keeps going and going. I've used many of the papers here on my calender. This weather has been a perfect excuse to stay in and craft.
